Hawk Walk

Hawk Walk at Rising Sun Winery: Participants walk along the vineyard and our hawk will follow along, flying from treetop to glove, as each person calls the bird to their hand. This intimate experience is often emotional and life changing with participants interacting with our birds in this free flight cooperative journey of man and flying beast. Guests will learn about the world heritage sport of falconry, and gain an up close appreciation for these wolves of the sky. When the flight experience is concluded guests may relax and dine in the scenic outdoor restaurant setting of the winery. Limit 14 participants.

Your host, William Lubrano, has been a falconer and educator for over 10 years, traveling with Renaissance Festivals and presenting birds in many venues: from festivals to schools to corporate retreats. He has worked in environmentally responsible pest removal projects, flying his hawks to abate and chase pest birds such as pigeon and grackles at oil refineries, vineyards, and parking areas. He is a falconer in residence with the Texas-based nonprofit Wildlife Revealed and has dedicated his efforts to education and the preservation of our planets wildlife by employing the natural abilities of raptors to correct environmental issues and to delight audiences great and small, nurturing their appreciation of our natural world.

Other things to note
This experience is weather dependent. If it is too windy or too rainy or if temperatures are above 100 degrees, we will need to reschedule. Please call or text the day of the event to confirm event and to reschedule should there be a need to do so.

Ticket cost is $50 per person.
